I’m happy with one beep to tell me the power just went out, but that’s it. So my question is: do you know any UPS devices that can operate in silence. I tried to take one apart to find the speaker, but lacked the correct screw driver and didn’t bother to continue (although I may try again–there are how-to’s all over the place). To me, that’s just plain stupid for a power outage that may run for a couple of hours. They beep incessantly, and there is no switch or setting that I’m aware of that can turn them off. Replacement return in process. The last time the power went out, I was reminded of a major annoyance with UPS units, of which I have a half-dozen or so. This is also brand new yesterday and has also been charged overnight, greater than the 8 hr recommendation. This is why I found this thread and am returning for another replacement. My problem, even though the unit is powered on, supplying power to my equipment and now have the LCD staying on, the power button still isn't lit up like it's supposed to. If left in default setting, the only time the LCD screen will come on is when you lose house power and you're running off the battery. If you press & hold the down display button for two seconds it will change the UPS setting to LCD screen constant on. By default, the instructions say (granted in a poor location, which is why one must read carefully ENTIRE directions & Function Setup Guide) the unit comes default with the LCD display turning off about 3 seconds after unit turns on. If you have anything plugged into the back of the battery backup, you'll see them power up. Think of it as a "no clickbait" rule in a way.Įxactly! When you hold the power button and hear the tone, the display will light up and the unit will turn on. No blatantly misleading link, posts or post titles may be posted.
